Interview with Tj Vais

Tj Vais: Gifted Poet From Australia

Jessica Gilbert: Tj, it’s such a pleasure to have you a part of TSM being a huge fan of your poetry. Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to do an interview for the magazine.

Tj Vais: Thank you for thinking of me.

Jessica Gilbert: What inspired you to start writing poetry? And at what age did you write your first poem?

Tj Vais: One of my friends on MySpace Dakota Williams inspired me to start writing poetry again; Dakota gave me her poetry book to read some time ago. I was so touched by her book, it seemed everything came from that time on. I did write poetry at a young age, mostly words for my mother. I recalled her songs she once sang to me when I was a child. I also wrote poetry as a teenager, just about my life and what I went through. First love and my friends at the time.

Jessica Gilbert: Where do you draw the inspiration for your poems? And is there a certain time of day that you prefer to write over other periods?

Tj Vais: I never plan to write poetry, when they come I just write the words. It’s hard to explain, a little like a gift. Almost as if I am the writer, but told to write by something or someone more powerful than myself. Or maybe just from deep within my heart.

Jessica Gilbert: Who are some poets you admire?

Tj Vais: These are some of the poets that I love, though in general I love almost anyone who has the gift of words. Edgar Allan Poe, Emily Dickinson, William Shakespeare and Dakota Williams.

Jessica Gilbert: Would you like to publish a book of your poetry?

Tj Vais: One day I would love to publish a book, and share my feelings with others. I would hope my poetry would bring some joy to other peoples lives.

Jessica Gilbert: Can you share a couple of your poems here with our readers?

Tj Vais: Here are some of my favorite poems.

Blossom

How “beautiful” you are in my “heart”..
Pure white silky “blossom” before my eye’s..
You have shown me how to “love” without regret..
We have lived heart to heart since before time..
Many a year has passed many more will come..
I love you my blossom for all to see..
The perfume of your pure heart astounds me..
The rain will come to wash you away..
Deep in my heart you will stay..
The snow will fall to freeze your heart..
Feel the warmth of my soul close my love..
My arms will keep you safe from harm..
My blossom my blossom you are a charm..

Pure White Rose

Behold the white rose pure sweet and beautiful
She has a magic to taunt your soul, behold her
Touch her with soft fingers, for she is tender
Hold her close, feel the aroma of her perfume
So natural a daunting delight of pure white
Hold her toward the sunlight bright, she shines
She will know love but for a short time, you smile
Weep for she will be gone, forgotten once more
As her pure white petals fall, cry for her, live for her
Remember how you loved her, hold her softly cry
Was she a creation of ones imagination? White rose
How then the heart hurts so, for you white rose

Sweet Surrender

Sweet Surrender’ I know your name. I met you on another plain..
Where Angels walk, dare to sing sweet songs of love’
Sweet Surrender’ Love found you in my Arms’
You are taller than the tallest tree, you are my Sweet Surrender’ you are me..
Be loved Than’ Be my Love’ Be my sweet pure Love’
Sweet Surrender’ I feel your heart, from across the ocean Tide’
When my heart spreads it’s wings, the winds will bring my love to you..
You are sweeter than a blossom tree,  Sweet Surrender’ You are the world to me..
We are one we are you, our love is forever grand. My sweet Surrender’ My Sweet Love’
You are My one’ My only true Love’
